Luthier George Gorodnitski founded in 1980 his Master Guitar Company. He was born in Riga, Latvia, where he graduated from a Musical College, Art Academy, and violin-making courses. After relocation to the United States in 1989, he continues to design and build a very specific line of high quality instruments : archtops, flattops, semi-acoustic, and electric guitars. All his instruments are unique in design, recognizable at first sight and have a great, distinctive sound. Here are some of his Protos: Elite Models George Gorodnitski West Hollywood, CA - USA
2000 Millenium Model. An original design by Master Luthier George Gorodnitski. Made in California, this is one of a new line of guitars we will be carrying. They are incredible. This is a semi-hollow double cut archtop in a cherry sunburst finish. The flamed maple top is deeply carved and ribbed with unique soundholes over a mahogany body and set neck. It has a trapeze tailpiece that is ebony inlaid with blue/green abalone as is the rose fingerboard inlay. It has 2 humbucking pickups with a single volume and tone control with a 3 way switch, and Sperzel locking gears. All gold hardware. Extremely light weight with a unique neck / body joint angle. A superb instrument.
